25/11/2022 Zum Ende der Festivalauswertung nach drei Jahren von meinem Masterpiece Etudes á Hunigue / Basel ou l´arbre pour dormir erschien heute dieser schöne und freundliche Bericht im Markgräfler Tageblatt, herzlichen Dank! Durch meine aktuelle Teilnahme am Girona Film Festival hatte ich die Redaktion verwirrt, so dass im Bericht ein falscher Filmtitel genannt ist. Again and again ist nicht der Film, von dem erzählt wird.

17/06/2022 Es sind wahrlich atemlose Zeiten mit jetzt unglaublichen 71 (!) internationalen Film Festivals in über 40 Ländern für den Kurz-Essay-Film Studies at Huningue / Basel or the tree to sleep. Für den Ultra-Kurzfilm Sad, but true sind es jetzt 27 internationale Film Festivals in 17 Ländern. Auch mein dritter Kurzfilm, Again and again (die Belarus-Version), startete mit drei Zusagen nach den ersten drei Festival-Benachrichtigungen ebenso erfolgreich in die Festivalauswertung, liegt jetzt bei 11 Festivals in 7 Ländern. Heißt: 109 Festivals für meine ersten drei Kurzfilme in 45 Ländern mit 17 Awards! Der vierte Kurzfilm, Again and again … (die Ukraine-Version) hat im März 2022 direkt einen Award bei Indie Online Awards bei seiner Uraufführung in Kyiv/Urkaine (!) gewonnen und der fünfte Point of no return bei den Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen im Mai 2022.

These are truly breathless times with now an incredible 71 (!) international film festivals in more than 40 countries for the short essay film Studies at Huningue / Basel or the tree to sleep. For the ultra-short film Sad, but true there are now 27 international film festivals in 17 countries. My third short film, Again and again (the Belarus version), also got off to an equally successful start with three festival acceptances after the first three festival notifications, and is now at 11 festivals in 7 countries. That means 109 festivals for my first three short films in 45 countries with 17 awards! The fourth short film, Again and again … (the Ukrainian version) directly won an award at the Indie Online Awards at its premiere in Kyiv/Urkaine (!) and the fifth Point of no return at the Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in Mai 2022.

25/10/2021 According to a friendly agreement with the musicpublisher only during Film Festivals I may show the trailer on the website. Currently the Tuzla Film Festival happened from 15 – 19 October 2021 and Make Art Not Fear at Porto in Portugal happens from 20 -31 October 2021. The festivals may show it 5 weeks before the festival until 2 weeks after the festival.

26/08/2021 Gestern Abend auf dieser monströsen, etwa 300 qm großen und größten Leinwand die ich je sah, vermochten meine Starenschwärme vor einigen hundert Zuschauern überzeugen und selbst ihre Heim-Premiere in der herrlichen Umgebung des Münsterplatzes in Basel sehr genießen! Eine einminütige technische Panne versagte den Ton, aber an einer vergleichsweise vertretbaren Stelle im Film. Das ist halt live und passiert. Kurz: es war gigantisch! Vielen Dank an Balimage, meinem Verband in Basel, der den Fokus Basel Abend hauptsächlich organisierte und allen, die je an diesen Kurz-Essay-Film glaubten!

I have the extraordinary pleasure to announce that my Starlings are now heading for Basel on their ongoing festival world tour after recently winning the Best Short Doc Award in Pärnu in Estonia. I couldn’t have asked for a better Switzerland and Basel premiere and feel very honoured! As part of the Allianz Cinema Basel, Basel’s Flock of Starlings will fly as one of three pre-films on 25 August as part of the Fokus Basel evening, where only Basel films will be shown. And on one of the biggest screens in Switzerland ever:
on Münsterplatz in the heart of Basel!

17/07/2021 I feel so much honored winning the Best Short Award at 35th Pärnu International Documentary Film Festival in Estonia, wunderful. Thanks so much to the Jury and the Festival! Festivaldirector Mark Soosaar has made one of the cuitest festivals in world, thank you!

15/06/2021 Es bleiben atemlose Zeiten mit jetzt unglaublichen 59 (!) internationalen Film Festivals in 27 Ländern für beide Kurzfilme – 40 für den Kurz-Essay-Film und 19 für den ultra Kurzfilm. Ja, mein Kurz-Essay-Film ist mein erster Kurzfilm, den ich zur Festivalreife brachte. 31/12/2020 Ein Jahr Basel ohne Corona. Hoffentlich nicht nur ein Wunsch, sondern bald wieder Realität! Ein persönlicher Rückblick auf ein Jahr ohne Corona – 2018 in Basel – überwiegend per Zeitraffer in gut 100 sec. Mit dem Morgenstraich und der Art Basel im Juni angefangen, über den WM-Achtelfinaleinzug der Schweiz, Rheinschwimmen im Juli, den Blutmond, der Sternschnuppenschwarm Perseiden, die Starenschwärme bis zum Feuerwerk zur Bundesfeier. Alle Film- und Tonaufnahmen sind original. Musik von Andreas Voss, Album Oktober. Dankeschön.

18/12/2020 Dieser Essay-Film über die Starenschwärme aus Hüningen / Basel wurde inzwischen auf 27 (in Worten siebnundzwanzig) internationale Filmfestivals in 17 Länder auf fünf Kontinenten eingeladen, davon alleine acht Festivals binnen acht Wochen bis Ende Dezember, war insgesamt von vier Festivals in New York ausgewählt, war/ist acht Mal Semi- oder reiner Finalist und wurde nach dem International Experimental Short Film Award in Ecuador kürzlich mit seinen zweiten Award ausgezeichnet: den Best Cinematogaphy – Documentary Short Award in Los Angeles und wurde außerdem jüngst als Best International Experimental Short Film beim renommierten 23. iCARO Film Festival in Guatemala nominiert.

This essay film about the flocks of starlings from Huningue / Basel has meanwhile been invited to 27 (in words twenty-seven) international film festivals in 17 countries on five continents, including eight festivals alone within eight weeks until the end of December, was selected by a total of four festivals in New York, was/is a semi-finalist or finalist eight times and recently won its second award after the International Experimental Short Film Award in Ecuador: The Best Cinematogaphy – Documentary Short Award in Los Angeles and was also recently named Best International Experimental Short Film at the prestigious 23. iCARO International Film Festival in Guatemala.
